After-School Learning Program

Students from underserved urban communities often face significant challenges – including poverty, unstable home environments, language barriers, food insecurity, and limited access to resources. Without adequate support, these obstacles can lead to lasting setbacks, such as academic failure, dropping out of school, or never realizing their full potential.

Jericho’s after-school learning program offers a safe, supportive environment where students from kindergarten through 12th grade can thrive. Through academic support, homework assistance, personalized guidance, and essential life skills instruction, we walk alongside students at every stage of their educational journey – helping them build confidence, resilience, and hope for the future.

K-5th grade

Our K-5th grade after-school learning program offers a dynamic and enriching experience where young students can explore, learn, and grow in a supportive environment.

Our program provides a well-rounded curriculum that includes environmental learning, art, math, reading, STEM, and gym classes. Through hands-on activities and engaging lessons, children discover the wonders of science and nature, express their creativity through art, and strengthen foundational skills in math and reading.

STEM activities spark curiosity and problem-solving, while gym classes promote physical health and teamwork. By blending education with creativity and play, Jericho Partnership’s after-school program nurtures the whole child, helping them build confidence, develop new skills, and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.

6th-12th Grade

Our 6-12th grade after-school learning program provides a vibrant and engaging space where teens can grow academically, socially, and personally. Our program offers a diverse rotation of activities, including book club discussions to foster a love for reading, leadership classes to build confidence and teamwork skills, and wellbeing workshops to support mental and emotional health. Students also enjoy game time, where they bond over video games, sports, and board games, and express their creativity through art classes. Beyond fun and learning, they give back to the community by helping at our food pantry and develop critical thinking and public speaking skills through mock trial classes. Alongside these enriching activities, students receive dedicated homework and academic support, ensuring they stay on track in school. This holistic approach empowers teens to explore their interests, develop essential life skills, and build a strong foundation for future success.

Summer Learning Program

Jericho Partnership’s Summer Learning Program is a transformative initiative aimed at preventing the “summer slide” and supporting students from underserved urban communities. By blending daily academic enrichment with fun, engaging recreational activities, the program helps students retain essential skills, build confidence, and stay motivated throughout the summer. In a safe and nurturing environment, children are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive – ensuring they return to school prepared and empowered for success.

Each day of Jericho Partnership’s Summer Learning Program includes focused academic instruction, where students work on reading and math under the guidance of qualified teachers and tutors. This targeted support helps prevent learning loss, reinforces essential skills, and gives students a valuable head start for the upcoming school year.

Beyond academics, the program offers a wide range of enriching activities – including arts and crafts, games, Bible lessons, and field trips – that foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth. These experiences make learning enjoyable while also promoting social interaction, character development, and spiritual formation.

For many students, the program is a lifeline – providing structure, encouragement, and support. By addressing both academic and social-emotional needs, Jericho’s Summer Learning Program empowers students to thrive and lays a strong foundation for long-term success.

Jericho's Study Buddies

Jericho Study Buddies is a dedicated initiative aimed at providing essential support to struggling students, ensuring they receive the attention and resources needed to succeed. By collaborating closely with teachers and administrators, volunteers play a vital role in addressing educational challenges early on, setting the foundation for long-term academic success.

The success of Jericho Study Buddies lies in its proactive approach, focusing on early intervention during critical stages of learning, such as kindergarten and first grade. By stepping in before students fall too far behind, the program helps bridge gaps in literacy and confidence. Volunteers work with young students to develop a love of learning before they fall behind. This collaborative effort not only empowers students to overcome challenges but also fosters a nurturing environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and beyond.
