Weekender Bags

Here's a heartbreaking reality: Jericho is currently providing weekend meals to 600 students in six Danbury public schools. 

That equals a LOT of students who don't have enough food to eat on the weekends, when they're not receiving school breakfast and lunch.

We started our Weekender Bag program in 2022, when a school Social Worker came to us, asking for our help to feed students she knew weren't eating on the weekends. So we sprang into action and created bags containing six meals: things like oatmeal, soup, tuna, microwave pasta, peanut butter, granola, mac n' cheese, applesauce, etc. 

What started as 30 bags a week has grown to 600+ bags per month, distributed through six public schools. As resources allow, we're planning to expand this program to more schools and help more youth in need.
